Ms. Tomaino earned her Bachelor of Science in Education from West Chester University and
her Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Chestnut Hill College. She has her PA Elementary Education and Principal certifications. Ms. Tomaino has served in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia for over 20 years. Most recently, she was the principal of St. Athanasius School, in Philadelphia, for 10 years. Prior to being named Principal, Ms. Tomaino taught 2nd and 6th grades at St. A’s. She has been a Reading and Math intervention teacher at a private school in Philadelphia and a substitute teacher in Pennridge School District. Ms. Tomaino loves teaching and credits her AoP elementary and high school teachers for serving as professional role models as she discerned her vocation. She is grateful to her parents, her first teachers, for raising her in the Church and providing the foundational knowledge of and faith in God. Ms. Tomaino feels blessed to join the St. Katharine Drexel School family. St. Katharine’s own words are an inspiration to Ms. Tomaino: “If we wish to serve God and love our neighbor well, we must manifest our joy in the service we render to Him and them. Let us open wide our hearts.” She incorporates Catholic identity into her lessons and strives to treat all people with dignity and respect. While Ms. Tomaino was born and raised in Philadelphia, she currently resides in North Wales with her Cocker Spaniel, Ruby. They enjoy walks in their neighborhood and trips to the dog park. Ms. Tomaino is an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan and enjoys reading, especially by the pool or on the beach. |
