Mr. Chris Micali is thrilled to be joining the SKD family! He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Rider University, and he completed a Master of Science in Education in 2014 from Walden University. Most recently Mr. Micali has been working in Higher Education Administration. Prior to that, he taught for five years at St. Bartholomew Catholic School in East Brunswick, New Jersey, teaching 5th-8th grade Social Studies, Math, and Honors Algebra I. For a while now, he has been missing the interaction, excitement, and challenges of classroom teaching, so he is returning to where he was happiest in the first place, the classroom!
Mr. Micali believes every learner has strengths in some areas and challenges in others. Because of this, his classroom reflects a space where children can celebrate theirs and others’ achievements and make mistakes without the fear of being judged. Patience, understanding, and a Christian attitude are what students and parents will find in abundance in his classroom. When not working, Mr. Micali loves playing guitar, reading, and spending time with his wife Laurie, his children Lia and Bryan, and his extended family as well. He loves grilling when the weather isn’t too hot and eating his wife’s cooking any day of the week! |
